Duration: 3 weeks at Scott’s Police K9 Facility in Sunbury, Ohio
Course outline:

  • Proper Handling techniques
  • Proper search procedures, safety concerns
  • Maintenance Training
  • Scene evaluation and deployment procedures
  • Understanding and applying training methods
  • Narcotic odor recognition
  • Conditioned response to Narcotic odors
  • Handler independent alert
  • Search patterns: vehicles, buildings, aircraft, open area etc.
  • Proper Record keeping
The K9 Team will be Trained to locate the following odors:
  • Marijuana
  • Hashish
  • Cocaine & Crack
  • Heroin
  • Methamphetamines

Explosive Detection K9
Duration: 3 weeks at Scott’s Police K9 Facility in Sunbury, Ohio
Course outline:

  • Maintenance Training
  • Scene evaluation and deployment procedures
  • Understanding and applying training methods

Duration: 2 weeks at Scott’s Police K9 Facility in Sunbury, Ohio
